The new “incarnation” of Thinking Unenslaved debuts this upcoming Wednesday evening at 8pm Eastern, 7pm Central, 5pm Pacific, live via my new broadcast site at mixlr.com/thinking-unenslaved. And to be perfectly honest, it’s already shaping up to be one of the best shows I’ve ever put together! Listen to it live over at Mixlr and participate in the chat, or use the “live show” link above and listen to it without distraction. As well, you can now subscribe to Thinking Unenslaved on iTunes!
Here’s what I’ve got lined up:
1. Before the show, I’m doing a short interview with Steve Hildebrand, former campaign manager for Tom Daschle and deputy director of President Obama’s 2008 campaign. We’ll talk about the marriage equality initiative in South Dakota’s elections, and the state of marriage equality across the country. Crossing my fingers that Steve and I can stay on track and I won’t have to edit too much for playback during the live show. Steve is one of the people I’ve known here the longest, and I’m a great admirer of his work, and of the coffee and menu items he serves up at Josiah’s Coffee House & Cafe.
2. Borrowing from the show’s original format, I’ll kick things off by covering some pertinent topics of discussion from current events. I’m focusing primarily on humanism and secularism as they operate in America, but you know me: I can’t really resist poking at some of the foibles of religious fundamentalism; I just intend to be considerably more lighthearted about it than I was in the past.
3. Joining me on the show will be Cory Allen Heidelberger, of Madville Times fame. Cory is one of South Dakota’s longest-standing liberal bloggers and a secret hero of mine. We’ll take a swift tour regarding many of the things that are up for vote across the State in these upcoming elections. It’s a great privilege to sit down and talk with Cory. He’s got to be one of the best people in this State.
4. Following Cory this Wednesday, is Josh Tordsen. Josh is currently the show’s sponsor, and like me, is a member of Siouxland Freethinkers. Josh and I will disuss the recent issue regarding the snow plows, what it really meant, what it didn’t mean at all, and why it matters. If none of that makes sense to you, tune into the show. 😉 See what I did there?
So, please tune in to Thinking Unenslaved Live Internet Radio at 7pm Central for insightful and entertaining conversation on topics that are truly relevant to our lives today. This is going to be a weekly thing, and I’m really looking forward to it. See you there!
